We started this crazy journey 8 years ago this month. When we say we had no clue what we were doing, we had straight up no clue. To think that 8 years later we would be embarking on phase two of our expansion is beyond our wildest dreams.
There will be more updates to come but please save the sate for the gran re-opening. We hope to see all of you who have made this dream a reality and have helped us along the way.

The some of the cast of Stillness of the run A few years back I got the idea for the script for Stillness of the run. Originally I thought it would make a great short movie, that could be extended to a full feature. As I worked on it and the obligatory re-writes it dawned on me that it was the making of a possible series. The more I got into the characters that came out of my imagination onto the page, the more I felt a full feature, never mind a short film, would never do them justice.
As any Independent filmmaker knows funding for shorts, features and series are a serious under taking if you want to do your project right. Somehow I felt that SHORT needed to be a series. We submitted the script to a few film festival and it did well, quite well actually, and cemented the idea that this project needed to happen. COVID put everything on the back burner, but finally last summer (2023) we started filming the pilot. The cast we were blessed with were more than any writer could dream for, and while some scheduling conflicts required moving the script around and pushing some characters' intro to later episodes, it still was more than we hoped for. I'm a firm believer that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. With that said I love working with a core group of actors that have been our ride or dies. These actors have joined our shenanigans whether part of cast, crew or just cheering us on. That formula has created magic for us when we are filming and I can't wait to share that magic with the rest of you. I know some people say never work with family. I am blessed that the blood relatives that we work with which are amazing and true professionals. The inherited family that we work with have further made what we do fun, exciting, emotional and created so much passion for us to continue on this journey. I cannot not wait to update you further on the progress and when we can showcase their incredible talents. Stay tuned. CategoriesBeantown Statie production company was a concept that came to life when we started production on Code 13: Unreadable in 2016.
The space that would eventually become our offices/sound stage was a location we acquired to set dress as a police station for the project. When filming wrapped in August 2016, Mel Alejandro, the co-owner, decided to keep the space to expand on his security business. Shortly after we signed the lease, we commenced filming on Testing the Series with Angelwood Pictures. The building was transformed into a dilapidated mental ward from the 1950's. When production was completed on Testing, we were at a crossroad. Continue to build the security portion of our business, or go full tilt into the production industry. Needless to say, the production side won out. We were blessed to connect with Seng K2X, who was our videographer during Code 13 and joined our team permanently, as our sound stage manager. Johnson Sea originally came on board as our on set medic, and quickly his deep resource of talents added to our Beantown team. We were fortunate to have Peter Maynard, as our military technical advisor, until his move out of state, but we still consider him part of our team. The four of us have been able to do some incredible work and in late 2018 Vinnie became the host of Kahdiak's kitchen, with his out of control sidekick Paco. The unscripted cook show, quickly became a fan favorite, and a multi award winning series on Amazon Video and Apple TV. Over the past 8 years we have worked with some of the most incredible actors, producers, directors, writers, editors and creatives, who have inspired us beyond measure. Now in 2024 we are at a crossroad again. We have realized for a while that we had long ago outgrown our space. In order to continue to take our business to the next level, we needed to expand. The question was where? That question is still in the works, as we have several options. We will be able to reach a final decision in the coming weeks. We are so excited for what the future holds for our small studio, that could, and for where this team of merry dreamers will go. We will have more updates in the coming weeks. We do want to take the opportunity to thank every single one of you who have trusted us with your dreams, visions and creative endeavors in the last 8 years. We continue to look Forward to growing with you, and to continue on this crazy, incredible ride with all of you. |
